The remote feels expensive as soon as you pick it up. The metal body and leather-like texture on the back give it a much nicer feel than a normal plastic remote, while the touchscreen keeps a long device list manageable.
The biggest win is Activities. A job that normally needs several separate button presses can be saved as one action, so something like turning on a fan and setting its timer becomes much quicker day to day.
The catch
It is not instant. Adding and checking a whole room of devices takes time, and you may need to teach it a few commands. Once that work is done it is very convenient, but this is a product you set up properly rather than casually plugging in.
The optional IR repeater is especially useful in a large room or when equipment is inside a cabinet. It extends coverage, but it also adds to an already premium price.
